Andreas Moe is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born and raised in Sweden. He has made quite a name for himself in Europe with appearances on shows such as Holland’s biggest prime-time talk show DWDD which has an audience of over 1.5 million as well as several European radio stations.
I first became aware of him in May this year when he was the opening act for American guitarist John Mayer at The O2 Arena, London, United Kingdom. I remember that he had a full band and that the recurring theme that kept appearing in terms of material was water.
The track ‘Borderline’ is taken from an EP of the same name and begins with a melancholy acoustic guitar intro before Moe’s European voice is met with steady electric guitar and lush horns to create a song for summer. The song isn’t as catchy as say ‘Uptown Funk’ but it isn’t trying to be that kind of song.
Instead, it is a peaceful and relaxing tune that you can sit back and listen to in a sun lounger with a beverage in your hand. And for me, it accomplishes that. Having toured the world with the likes of Mayer and Gabrielle Aplin to name a few, more people will learn of the name Andreas Moe.
Andreas Moe’s single ‘Borderline’ is out now on Believe Recordings.
