Her guest spot singing with Jeff Goldblum’s jazz crew was a sheer delight. Now she stars in an imaginative presentation of Celtic music across genres…

Imelda May has announced ‘An Evening Of Celtic Soul’ at the London Palladium in May 2019.

The vocalist will interpret ground-breaking music by iconic Irish songwriters accompanied by the 24-piece Leo Green Orchestra for BBC Radio 2’s ‘Friday Night Is Music Night’ series on Monday 6th May 2019.

May will proudly celebrate the songs of fellow artists from her homeland such as Van Morrison, U2, The Chieftains and Glen Hansard – all whom she has previously shared the stage with – and many more such as Damien Rice, Hozier, The Cranberries and Thin Lizzy.

May commented: “When Leo (Green) asked me to join him and the orchestra at the Palladium for a show celebrating my influences I was intrigued and the more I delved, the more I realised how many artists from Ireland have hugely influenced me and continue to inspire me. For such a small island we have a wealth of musical talent. That’s something I’m happy to celebrate.”
