PA new music outfit which blends the genre of folk with the sound of Bagpipes and they have proved very popular on the UK music festival circuit. Ladies and Gentleman,we introduce to you… Wight Hot Pipes:
Gritty, gutsy and incredibly unique in both their sound and style, Wight Hot Pipes, are fast becoming one of the most sought after music exports from the Isle of Wight, as their inimitable brand of alternative rock heads its way to mainland shores. With a prime slot lined-up on the Croissant Neuf Stage this year (where the mighty Ed Sheeran made his Glastonbury debut), and their new album ‘Any Time It Rains’ released on Friday 21st June 2019, Wight Hot Pipes are making a serious imprint on the UK music scene.
Hailing from the musically-creative shores of the Isle of Wight, Wight Hot Pipes, are an internationally acclaimed 6-piece band, who commanded a standing ovation at the BBKing Club in Broadway Manhattan in 2017. Ripping-up the rock rule-book, WHP define the genre under their own terms. Diverse and eclectic, Wight Hot Pipes, deliver a mix of musical genres which fuse inside their melodic melting pot to create an exhilarating cocktail of flavours; spanning the entire spectrum from celtic all the way through to contemporary dance and gritty rock. With x4 original pennings and x 9 covers including ‘Starlight’ and ‘Galway Girl’, the album, ‘Any Time It Rains’ is a 13-track collection that will leave you feeling energised and invigorated.
But it’s the sheer genius twist of bagpipes within their instrumental line-up that kicks the roof out of every venue they play. This, combined with the genius talent of lead singer, Tori, that give WHP absolute stand-out. Tori has the rare ability to weave her vocals magically around the dominant bagpipes; not easy to do, but the sheer strength and tone of Tori’s voice pairs stunningly with the bagpipe fusion. Thought you knew bagpipes – think again! Wight Hot Pipes just brought the pipes smashing into rock music with an edgy attitude that ignites the room and whips up nothing short of euphoria.

Prepare for Glastonbury…
For the past 6-years, Kieron’s talent has signalled the opening of the Isle of Wight Festival. His piping has been the signature tune to the opening of the main gates, as they heave open to the expectant crowds, under the watchful eye of John Giddings (who wanted something ‘different’); so he put Kieron and his flame embellished pipes on a large crane, in bagpipe salute at the opening ceremony. Now, for 2019, the Wight Hot Pipes add Glastonbury onto their festival list as they make their debut appearance as a main act on the Croissant Neuf Stage. Surpassing all expectations, the performance of Wight Hot Pipes serves up a generous helping of burlesque, with a rich raunchy feel and a gritty edge of attitude. A modern twist of glam rock catapulted into the 21 Century, with the eclectic exciting edge of bagpipes woven into the centre of the entire show – it’s time for Glastonbury to pipe up!
Their image and sound screams out from the sea of other bands, and Wight Hot Pipes are carving an indelible print onto the experiential journey of their ever-growing audience – once seen and heard, the charisma and the band is never forgotten. Many bands have such as ACDC and The White Stripes have woven the rich complex sound of the bagpipes into the tapestry of their music; but the Wight Hot Pipes have taken piping to the next level – the Wight Hot Pipes revolution is coming, embrace it!
