Poetica ‘Magenta and Blue’ Lyric Video Premiere
We at JLTT are always intrigued by new music and creative projects – Therefore, we are very pleased to bring you the official premiere of the lyric video ‘Magenta and Blue’ which is the latest track taken from the new project entitled ‘Poetica’ from our friends at MPress Records. Feast your eyes and ears on the audio/visual delights below:
“Magenta and Blue” put words and music to the moment when love becomes ego-less, where walls come down completely, and honesty and acceptance are givens. The piece captures a peaceful, uplifting place where each person is embraced by the other with an expressiveness akin to the watercolour painting process, where colours and lines blur into something dreamlike, becoming more beautiful in the process.
Speaking about the track, Rachael Sage explained: “The music was co-written by myself and my longtime collaborator and cellist Dave Eggar, who has an innate ability to channel deep emotion into every note he plays, bringing his full spiritual self to the music. It was a wonderful experience working together (remotely) on this track, and as a producer, I’m always delighted to venture into new stylistic terrain – which I think “Magenta and Blue” definitely does! I wanted the musical accompaniment to channel a sonic version of a Chagall painting…soulful, meditative, and hopefully, just a little bit transcendent.”
The lyric video for “Magenta and Blue” was a collaboration with the South Korean music company, Sound Republica, who were wonderful to work with because they’re not only super creative, but they’re always very eager to serve the mood and vibe of the song. Sometimes as musicians we get so close to the work that we’re limited by our own go-to palette when it comes to visuals, so it was a fun surprise to see how they interpreted my broad direction, and yet another reminder that music truly is universal, defying all artificial boundaries and, ideally, becoming something bigger than the individuals involved. I hope that the diversity of imagery and graceful editing style help convey the essential premise of “Magenta and Blue” and Poetica as a whole – which is that poetry is a philosophy as much as an art form. Everywhere you look and listen there is poetry in our midst, and each one of us has the ability to turn our words and actions into fine art, as human beings curating our lives and caring for each other.
Poetica’s latest track ‘Magenta and Blue’ and its accompanying lyric video is out now on MPress Records. The ‘Poetica’ album is released on 22nd October 2021 also on MPress Records. For more information visit www.poeticaproject.com
