Scouting for Girls Announces New Album “The Place We Used to Meet” and Autumn UK Headline Tour

by | Apr 19, 2023

Scouting for Girls is set to release their seventh studio album, “The Place We Used to Meet,” on October 13th. The album sees the band returning to their roots, as they reconnect with the reasons they first started the band. In celebration of the new album, Scouting for Girls has announced a major UK headline tour this autumn, concluding with a London show at the Roundhouse.

“The Place We Used to Meet” was written and recorded in the same manner as their debut single, “She’s So Lovely,” released in 2007. The album features their instantly memorable, life-affirming, singalong indie-pop style, with songs that resonate with stories of longing and loss. The band’s original lineup, consisting of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse, and Peter Ellard, is still intact.

Scouting for Girls worked with a variety of trusted collaborators on the new album, including Roy producing many of the songs alongside Jon Mags and Alex Oldroyd, as well as the band writing and producing a track with their new touring guitarist Nick Tsang. The first half of the record showcases some of the best songs they’ve written in over a decade, while the second half flows together like a continuous suite of music.

Fans who pre-order the album before 5 pm on Tuesday, April 18th will receive a code to access an exclusive pre-sale for tour tickets. The pre-sale will open at 10 am on Wednesday, April 19th, with general tickets going on sale from 10 am on Friday, April 21st. Scouting for Girls will also be playing two runs of shows as very special guests to Olly Murs, with a busy festival schedule lined up as well.
