Andre Paul (aka Andrew Dineen), an emerging artist, writer, narrator, and self-taught composer. Under his real name of Andrew Dineen his music videos for the tracks Planet Earth and The King Of Lions have exceeded 1 million views on social media. He will release his new single ‘We’re Here To Stay’ on Friday 18th July 2025. We felt that now was the perfect time to talk to him and he kindly agreed:

When did you begin singing/songwriting?

August 2024.

What is your earliest musical memory?

Late father was a church organist so music has been in the family all my life.

You have your new single ‘We’re Here to Stay’ which is released on 18th July 2025. What was the story/inspiration behind the track?

I decided to combine the 2 genres together. The style of the planet Earth series and My Andre Paul
Before I Die soundtrack.

The single is accompanied by an official music video. What was the thought process behind the video and who directed it?

When I write a song I already have a picture in mind for the videos. For this track I directed it myself.

Where did you record the single and who produced it?

I record my music at Epps Records Cookham Berkshire and my producer is Stuart Epps.

Do you have any interesting, funny or memorable stories from the recording sessions?

Having the opportunity to work with Stuart Epps is a privilege and honour all by itself. We always have fun recording together.

Did you use any particular instruments, microphones, recording equipment to help you get a particular sound/tone for the record?

My instruments that I always use in all my music is my trusty Yamaha Genos Keyboard, An Apple iMac computer using Garage Band other software and Tonor microphones.

Which of your tracks hear you at your a) happiest, b) angriest and c) most reflective?

A. Happiest is the Planet Earth Series.
B. Angriest is here to stay because it highlights humans destroying animals wildlife without any
care.
C. Most reflective is Before I Die as I wrote it in hospital when I was very unwell.

Do you have any further music releases planned for 2025?

Yes. I have written several new projects which we are working on as funds permit.

What two things do you hope to have achieved once you have left the stage?

I’ve never performed live yet as such. I have only played the keyboards in care homes entertaining the residents. But hope to perform in my own full concerts one day.

I am working with a experienced conductor to transform my music so it can be played by a full sized orchestra. So I can then hopefully one day perform live.

Do you have any favoured stage instruments, effects, pedals, microphones etc?

I’m a Yamaha keyboard fan so almost everything in my home studio is Yamaha.

How do you look after your voice?

I don’t. I just sing when I need to.

You are given the opportunity to write the score for a film adaptation of a novel that you enjoy. Which novel is it and why?

There’s only 2 for me and that’s H.G. Wells War of The Worlds. and Sergei Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf. Which I play quite regularly on the keyboards.

What two pieces of advice do you have a novice musician?

Practice. Practice. Practice. You have to practice till you can’t practice no more. Any musician in anything should be practicing for at least 2 hours everyday. I have days myself where I’ve practiced for 6 to 8 hours plus on day off work.

Where is your hometown and could you please describe it in five words?

I was born and raised in Windsor Berkshire. I will keep my description of the place to myself.

Do you have any live dates in the UK/Europe planned for 2025/2026?

No nothing yet. But who knows. One day.

What makes Andre Paul happy and what makes you unhappy?

I’m happiest when I know my music and videos are being watched and enjoyed by as many people
as possible.

The one thing that annoys me the most is the general public and the media are so celebrity locked. If my name’s not a famous artist. Nobody cares and doesn’t want to know. Which is a real shame because there’s a lot of talented people out there.
