Little Quirks Return with Punchy New Single ‘Game Boy’, Out September 18th

by | Aug 27, 2026

Australian indie-rock outfit Little Quirks returns with ‘Game Boy’, out September 18th, the latest taste of their forthcoming album ‘She’s Wild’. The track marks another step into a darker, bolder new chapter for the New South Wales band, following the release of the album’s title track and ‘Moving On.’

Punchy, playful and packed with attitude, ‘Game Boy’ takes aim at the smooth-talking romantic who seems to have perfected the art of making everyone feel like they are the only one. Flowers appear at just the right moment, spontaneous dancing breaks out in the rain and every line seems perfectly timed, until the whole thing starts to feel a little too rehearsed. Beneath the charm, something doesn’t quite add up. It is playful without being lightweight, catchy without losing its bite, and carries the kind of restless energy that makes it impossible to sit still.

‘Game Boy’ offers the first glimpse into the world of She’s Wild, Little Quirks’ forthcoming album due October 16th. The record sees the band push further into indie-rock while retaining the rich harmonies, melodic songwriting and emotional storytelling that have always been at the heart of their music.

With ‘She’s Wild’, the band takes the foundations that have always made them who they are, rich vocal harmonies, melodic songwriting and an instinct for storytelling, and pushes them somewhere more expansive. Guitars feel bigger, the rhythms hit harder and the production has a darker, more atmospheric edge, bringing together elements of indie-rock, indie-pop, Americana and dream-pop to create their most rock-driven record yet. There is still warmth at the heart of Little Quirks, but ‘She’s Wild’ has more bite.

Across eight tracks, the album explores the complicated territory of love, lust, heartbreak and self-discovery, capturing the highs, lows and restless uncertainty of finding your way through your twenties. These are songs about falling for the wrong person, wanting someone too much, walking away when something no longer feels right and discovering that freedom can be just as exhilarating as love. At its heart, ‘She’s Wild’ is about choosing yourself.

Fronted by sisters Abbey and Mia Toole, and their bandmates and friends Jordan Rouse and Lachlan Raeside, Little Quirks have spent the last decade growing up together, writing songs together and taking their infectious blend of indie-rock, indie-pop, Americana and dream-pop from their hometown of New South Wales to audiences around the world.

Lifelong collaborators with a near-telepathic musical connection, they deliver a live show that hits hard and lingers long after the final notes. Their towering harmonies, razor-sharp musicianship and all-in, no-limits stage presence have cemented them as one of the most electrifying indie-folk-rock acts on the circuit. Blending heartfelt songwriting with explosive dynamics, the band move effortlessly between moments of intimate beauty and full-throttle catharsis. Their performances are raw, joyful, and fiercely connected – every show feels like a shared experience, charged with emotion, sweat and pure release.

Since forming in 2016, the family band have become an established international touring act, touring extensively across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia sharing stages with The Teskey Brothers, Frank Turner, The Lottery Winners, and The Cat Empire, while appearing at major festivals including Kendal Calling, Colours of Ostrava, and Bluesfest.

Their 2024 Bluesfest performance was hailed as “near-flawless” by Under the Radar Magazine, earning praise for both precision and power. It’s a reputation backed up night after night as Little Quirks leave absolutely nothing in the tank, delivering sets that feel urgent, fearless and alive. Described as “world-class indie-folk beauty” by Dan Condon (Double J), Little Quirks continue to build momentum as a must-see live act – the kind of band that turns first-time listeners into lifelong fans.

Their 2024 self-titled debut album has amassed millions of streams, with the band’s catalogue now exceeding 11 million Spotify streams and more than 4.4 million YouTube views. Tracks including ‘Crumbled’, ‘Someone to Hold’ and ‘The Rain’ have helped Little Quirks build an increasingly international audience, while their live reputation continues to grow across both sides of the world.

This is Little Quirks turning heartbreak into something liberating, vulnerability into strength and the uncertainty of growing up into a record that feels alive with possibility.
