Jimmy Constable of 911 Talks Kubix On Tour 2024 And More

MEnglish pop group 911 consisting of Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Simon “Spike” Dawbarn have been entertaining audiences since their 1995 formation. They will perform at Kubix On Tour at arenas in Aberdeen, Leeds and Hull. We spoke to Jimmy Constable about the tour and more:

Who is in 911 and how did you meet? 

911 is a 3 piece band formed in 1995 . Myself and Spike started on a TV show called ‘ The Hitman and Her ‘ . We then formed the band and auditioned Lee to join us .

911 will be performing at Kubix On Tour in December 2024 in arenas in Aberdeen, Leeds and Hull. How are you feeling about the shows and do any of the cities hold and importance/significance to 911?

We are very lucky to still be playing arenas throughout the UK and as we have travelled for many years , I would say every city has a great memory for us. 

 Given your back catalogue, is it difficult picking a setlist and do you have a specific song selection process?

We normally try find out what kind of audience is in the gig as we choose our set list . Mostly uptempo . Sometimes it’s hard to pick a good set list for everyone as we have many hits.

What two things do you hope to have achieved once you have left the stage?

When we leave the stage we always want the crowd to have had the best time and sang along to there favourite songs. 

Where is your hometown and could you please describe it in five words?

My hometown is Liverpool and best described as: Vibrant, beautiful, friendly, historic and most of all home.

Do you have any plans to release new music in 2024/2025? 

We have plans to release new music in Asia only at the minute. But you never know.

You are given the opportunity to write the score for a film adaptation of a novel that you enjoy. Which novel is it and why?

I would choose a novel of ‘Of Mice and Men ‘ . Great story and would make a great film.

Who are some of your musical influences? Do you have any recommendations?

My influences growing up are people like Luther Vandross, Boys To Men, Michael Jackson, Brian McKnight and many more . Recommend Brian McKnight 

How do you look after your voices?

We try are best to keep fit and vocal warm ups with honey and lemon.

What makes 911 happy and what makes you unhappy?

What makes us happy is putting on a great show and knowing people have enjoyed themselves . Unhappy would be not touring
