South Wales four-piece The Now return with their latest single ‘Did You Miss Me?’ on 21st September 2026, released via Trew Music. The track is the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming second album, ‘Moments in Motion’, arriving 27th October 2026.  

You will release your new album ‘Moments In Motion’ on Tuesday 27th October 2026. How did you want to approach the making of the album?

We didn’t really have a specific approach to how we wanted to make the album, we just wanted to make sure that we continue down the electro rock kind of vibe just to ensure that there’s a difference between previous work and the sound of bands that are currently in the market

Where did you record the album and who produced it?

So the first four tracks we recorded were at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, co-produced by Charles Hughes and Faye Dolle. Then for the remainder we went to Summerfield Studios in Birmingham where we recorded with a fantastic Producer called Alex Vesters.

Do you have any interesting, funny or memorable stories from the recording sessions?

I suppose the most memorable and funny story from the recording was most probably the last session where in the title track MOMENTS IN MOTION Leon did a rap which we didn’t know he could do and it really suited the vibe of this song so we were surprised and very grateful for Leon fantastic rapping skills. However, I do think this will be the first and only time we will expect Leon to rap on a song on an album of ours.

Did you use any particular instruments, microphones, recording equipment to help you get a particular sound/tone for the record?

I think we must probably did use specific equipment but I think that sort of way Alex, Faye and Charles come into it. We pretty much turn up and just sort of play, (well I was the drummer anyway) I’m sure Brom and Leon and Shane have really fancy equipment and pedal boards and stuff, but yeah, I think I think the beauty lies primarily with the talented Producers we were lucky to have.

Which of your new album tracks hear you at your a) happiest, b) angriest and c) most reflective?

I think the happiest-sounding song will be our first single, “Breathe.” We’ve written it in a similar way to The Smiths, where there’s a real dichotomy between the uplifting sound of the music and the sadness that runs underneath it lyrically. It sounds bright on the surface, but there’s a darker, more melancholic feeling beneath it.

None of the tracks I would say a particularly angry songs but I suppose the angriest sounding track would be hold on specifically because of the reason behind why this song was written. I’m sure if you listen to it then listen to the lyrics you’ll be able to appreciate why that is.

I’d say the most reflective track of this album would be “Something Beautiful” just because when the song was written it was about wanting the perfect relationship but then also realising that maybe that doesn’t naturally exist.

Was it a difficult album to write?

This they would say would be the easiest album that we wrote in comparison to our first one. Just because the process is right now and becoming more streamlined and professional. On the first album we were just meeting up in a practice room trying forced out songs. But now we’ve created a little studio in Shane‘s house where we sit down and work out the sound of the song first, we don’t just use a guitar line or a chord structure, we might use lyrics or a synth pattern. We’ve just become a little bit more, I suppose mature in our approach and I think that’s really reflected when you listen to the album in comparison to the first one.

Who designed the album artwork?

The artwork was created by the very talented Monique at Made Indelible – she’s done some amazing work out there for so many amazing bands so we had to use her services and we are really really happy with what she’s come up with because it matches our brand perfectly.

Do you have any visualisers to accompany the album?

We try and create as much the visualisation as possible obviously because in this day and age content is key. For every track we’ve released a video which you can find over on YouTube and other social media platforms and we continue to do so with the future releases too. Do you have any live dates planned in the UK/Europe in 2026/2027?

Yes through Scruff of the Neck records we are playing three shows; Manchester on the 2nd of September Cardiff on the 3rd of September and London on the 4th of September if you head to LinkTree you’ll find links to the tickets for these.

We are also very lucky to be supporting The Ordinary Boys September 9th in Tunbridge Wells. We will have an album release show towards the end of October when the album is released on the 27th of October.

We are then also supporting The Ordinary Boys December 10th and 11th as part of the tour and in the meantime we’ll arrange in further gigs too so we’ll see you at the front.
