Back in the Eighties, the standing joke about A Flock Of Seagulls were the one band you wouldn’t want to follow on a bill..on account of the mess!   But the big-haired synth pop act now returns for live performances…

A Flock Of Seagulls have announced an eight-date headline ‘Inflight’ UK Tour for July 2019.

The tour starts on Thursday 11th July 2019 at Robin 2, Bilston, United Kingdom and finishes on Friday 19th July 2019 at The Art  School,  Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

It has been exactly 40 years since Mike Score and his brother formed the band A Flock of Seagulls. The iconic new wave bands biggest to ten hit was “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” in 1982.

In the VH1 special 100 Greatest Songs of the ‘80s, their single “I Ran” was listed at #55 on the countdown, while on the VH1 special 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 80s, the song was listed at #2. Although considered a 1980s new wave classic, the song experienced somewhat of a revival in 2002 as the signature theme for the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, being played during the game’s television commercials and during gameplay as one of the songs in the playlist for radio station Wave 103.

The band also experienced success with the songs , “Space Age Love Song” (1982) and “The More You Live, the More You Love” (1984). They also won a Grammy for their instrumental DNA

The current line up of the band includes singer, keyboardist and founder Mike Score and Gordon Deppe, guitarist from legendary Canadian New Wave Band The Spoons.
