Amelia Coburn Releases New Single ‘Something Wild’

by | Oct 2, 2025

On the rise artist Amelia Coburn is back with brand new single ‘Something Wild’, alongside the news of her biggest London headline show to date at Royal Albert Hall on 24th October 2025.

With the success of last year’s debut album ‘Between The Moon And The Milkman’ and fresh off an esteemed feature on the latest Paul Weller album‘ Find El Dorado’, the self-proclaimed folk horror songstress continues to make waves in 2025. Her new single is a testament to this momentum, matched with the upcoming headline show at Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room in October – Amelia’s biggest London headliner to date, along with new tour dates – listed below.

Supported by PRS Foundation’s Open Fund and inspired by the feminist works of writers like Angela Carter and Clarissa Pinkola Estés, ‘Something Wild’ is song is for those who feel they have been shackled by modern society’s expectations. Propelled by Ruth Lyon’s cinematic string arrangements and a galloping guitar riff that never lets up, Amelia delivers a spirited alt-folk tune which manages to channel the bold, sweeping energy of a classic John Barry Bond score.

Amelia Coburn: “The women in the fairytales I grew up reading and loving were quite often populated with damsels in distress running away from danger or waiting to be rescued. I wanted to flip that narrative on its head. The protagonist sheds the skin of domestic life, bares her teeth and becomes the very same wolf that the old fables warned us about.”

To accompany the track comes a Red Riding Hood-inspired, endorphin raising video filmed by Rob Irish – one where Amelia lets her inner beast shine.

Bio:

Weaving together the literate lyrical approach of Scott Walker with the melodic genius of Paul McCartney, Amelia Coburn has a knack for making the unusual sound timeless.

Drawing inspiration from gothic literature and the shadowy allure of film noir, there is a darkness at the heart of many of her songs, populated by vivid characters and nocturnal creatures that inhabit the liminal space “between the moon and the milkman”. This is artfully counterbalanced, like the chiaroscuro of an old master, by Amelia’s down-to-earth charm and wicked sense of humour.

Produced by Bill Ryder-Jones (founding member of The Coral), her 2024 debut album Between the Moon and the Milkman has already gained a cult following, including praise from British music legends Paul Weller – chosen as one of his albums of the year for MOJO – and Paul Heaton, as well as national radio play in the UK and Ireland (BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, 5, 6Music, Scotland and Ulster). The album reached number 7 on the Official UK Independent Album Breakers chart and spent 3 consecutive months on the Official Folk Top 40.

Multiple end-of-year lists have praised Amelia, as the likes of Shindig! Magazine, CLASH, Line of Best Fit, Drowned In Sound, RnR and Far Out Magazine have been incredibly vocal in their support for her.

Previous support slots include the likes of The Levellers, Katherine Priddy, Hamish Hawk and Stornoway, as well as her first ever American shows at SXSW earlier this year. And plenty more to come!
