Donny McCaslin Announces October 2018 UK Shows

Bowie’s swansong album found him playing with avant garde jazzers, adding what can only be called a clandestine fizz to his departure lounge songsmithery. Now, UK shows will showcase the reeds player from that recording ensemble…
Donny McCaslin will bring his Blow tour to London and Manchester in October 2018.
Replacing Michael Brecker in Steps Ahead back in the 90s, and making an especially telling contribution to the orchestral sweep of Maria Schneider’s Orchestra, he has led a string of small bands of distinction.
Now back with upcoming studio album BLOW, Donny brings together bassist Jonathan Maron, drummer Nate Wood, keyboardist Jason Lindner and Jeff Taylor on vocals and guitar for his live tour.
The jazz saxophonist, who performed on David Bowie’s final studio album, ‘Blackstar’, will perform at the Scala, London, United Kingdom on Sunday 7th October 2018 and Band on the Wall, Manchester, United Kingdom on Tuesday 30th October 2018.
