Scottish pop artist Nina Nesbitt has had a busy 2018 so far with a headline UK Tour and summer festival appearances. She has now released a new music video and we have all of the information here:

Fresh from a UK headline tour, which included a sold-out London’s Heaven and now with over 100 million streams across streaming platforms, Nina Nesbitt releases the video to her new single ‘Loyal To Me’ today through Cooking Vinyl.

Now Nina Nesbitt builds on that upward trajectory sharing her new track ‘Loyal To Me’, produced by Fraser T Smith (Stormzy/Adele/Drake/Florence and the Machine). This is accompanied by the video which finds Nina performing hiplet, a style of dance that fuses hip hop and ballet and sees Nina performing en pointe for most of the video.

You can watch the official music video in this article.

Nina explains, “I worked closely with Debbie Scanlon (Director) on this video – we both agreed I needed to come out my comfort zone for this video! Apart from a few ballet exercises when I was a gymnast, dance is something I’ve NEVER done (probably for a good reason) but something I’ve always admired in pop divas growing up. I thought this was the perfect moment to try it. Ballet is something that is beautiful and feminine but also painful and extremely difficult. I like how double sided it is – it can look vulnerable but still be one of the toughest things out there. Loyal To Me is about girls talking to girls, giving advice and it has a sort of throwback vibe to it. I felt like the video related to the song in terms of having the beautiful moments in a relationship but also the pain of someone cheating.”

Having grown-up in a small village just outside Edinburgh, Nina Nesbitt enjoyed a whirlwind of success with the ‘Peroxide’ album, but she was soon ready to move on. An organic evolution, her 2016 track ‘Chewing Gum’ was the sound of her breaking out of her comfort zone and indulging fully her love of pop. Her desire to challenge herself continued with the low-key ‘Life in Colour’ EP which found Nina writing emotional and sometimes dark stories that were inspired by experiences which fans had sent to her.

Still only 23-years-old, Nina Nesbitt has found a way to make it work for her in an industry that often doesn’t give you the time to settle into the artist you want to be. Rather than rush into making another album for the sake of it, she waited for the inspiration to strike and let it slowly take shape organically. What she excels at is being an artist, but one that’s fully in control – the very best kind.

Nina has played many of the summer festivals including RiZe, Barn on The Farm, Cornbury and TRNMST. She is preparing to play two of the Skyline Series in August, before a headline date at London’s Omeara on 26th September for Nordoff Robbins. Nina then embarks on a tour of Europe with Lewis Capaldi until December.
