With a hard funk sound and formidable vocal sound, this act deserves their high reputation as record makers and performers. Their shows are consistently tuneful, rhythmic and fun…they really do bring the party with them…

Legendary 80s soul and R&B band Shalamar, have announced they will be returning to the UK for two
shows in London and Manchester in November 2018.

As Shalamar, Howard Hewitt and Jeffrey Daniel sold over 25 million records worldwide and collected no
less than 100 gold, silver and platinum awards. Howard and Jeffrey, together with Carolyn Griffey – the
daughter of Solar Records founder Dick Griffey, bring an exciting blend of funk, disco and soul to every
live show, being described as one of the most powerful and energetic acts on the circuit today.

Shalamar perform classic songs such as ‘A Night To Remember’, ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, ‘There It Is’,
“Take That To The Bank”, “Dead Give Away” and many more. With 25 million record sales under their
belts, Howard and Jeffrey, along with the newest member Carolyn Griffey thrill audiences with a
dynamic blend of funky feel good music.

“This is what the audience enjoy and this is what we enjoy. They’re still getting the same quality of
performance and excitement as it was in the day,” says Jeffery talking about their live performances.
“We’re older now, and after Shalamar broke up we went our separate ways, we got into our own projects.
So now we are bringing all this wealth of experience over the years into Shalamar. Now you have a bigger
package.” “It’s like wine, it just gets better with time,” adds Carolyn.

Shalamar were regarded as fashion icons and trendsetters, and helped to introduce ‘body-popping’ to
the United Kingdom. Jeffrey Daniel brought street dance to the UK – he is noted as the dance mentor for
Michael Jackson and the man that taught him the moonwalk. Jeffrey co-choreographed and featured in
the ‘Smooth Criminal’ and ‘Bad’ videos during a creative partnership with The King of Pop that spanned
twenty years and went on to star in the original West End cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight
Express, playing Electra.

Howard Hewett is one of the most iconic US soul artistes of all time, releasing numerous solo albums
and collaborating or performing with some of the greats including Stevie Wonder, George Duke and
Earth, Wind and Fire. He was recently voted by Soul Tracks as one of the top 10 greatest male soul
singers of all time.

Newest member Carolyn Griffey also joins Howard and Jeffery, and is a former member of the group
Absolute and heir to the Solar Records dynasty.
