One of Australia’s strongest singer songwriters confirms performance dates…
With an appearance at Boardmasters Festival in August 2019 already confirmed, Pete Murray has announced a September 2019 UK/Ireland headline tour.
Having previously headlined Brixton Academy and Shepherds Bush Empire, his last trip to the UK saw him play intimate venues (his first in almost 5 years) – including a sold-out show at London’s Bush Hall.
Pete’s is an unlikely success story… a rising Rugby football star gets so badly injured that he has to leave his sport behind. He picks up an acoustic guitar, teaches himself how to play it and records an indie CD that he sells after shows from the back of his Kombi Van.
His debut album, the roots/rock infused ‘Feeler’ (2003), went number one and seven times platinum in Australia, as well as earning 12 ARIA Award nominations. ‘Feeler’ eventually spent over two and a half years in the Top 100. The acclaimed album spawned his classic ‘So Beautiful’ which went on to become the Most Performed Australian Song of the Year.
Two more number one albums followed, with further critical and commercial success hot on their heels. Now, with a new album in the works, and a brand new single due later this summer, Pete returns to the UK/Ireland.
