Asian Dub Foundation To Release Deluxe Vinyl Edition of “Access Denied”
Asian Dub Foundation proudly release a deluxe vinyl edition of their “Access Denied” on Friday 12th June 2021, with 5 exclusive bonus remixes.
The album is released in the wake of the band’s collaboration with comedian Stewart Lee “Comin’ Over Here” unexpectedly hitting No.1 in the official UK Sales chart during the week the UK finally left the European Union. The tune was able to raise a defiant cheer from a lot of people that have been disgusted by Brexit and its accompanying anti-immigrant rhetoric, and the rest of the album builds extensively on this theme.
Asian Dub Foundation will be adding a new version of ”Comin’ Over Here” featuring another section from Stewart’s classic monologue plus two previously unreleased tracks from a special one-off with none other than Adrian Sherwood at the controls. Also, expect two brand new remixes digidub style by Panda Dub and Manudigital and a new version of the album artwork specially designed for the RSD edition. “It’s great to be able to re-present the album on record store day as we wholeheartedly support the independent shops keeping alive the wonderful artefact that is the vinyl record, particularly in these times of COVID.”
Access Denied released by X-Ray Productions, with collaborations featuring Stewart Lee, incendiary Palestinian shamstep warriors 47 Soul and climate activist supreme Greta Thunberg.
The album showcases Asian Dub Foundation in full-spectrum mode from the tough Jungle Punk sound of Stealing The Future and Mindlock through to the orchestral meditations of “Realignment” and the reggae lament of the title track.
Unbowed and undeterred Asian Dub Foundation continue their sonic opposition to the powers that be and Access Denied kicks harder and higher than ever.
Asian Dub Foundation also announce the “Singalong with Stewart” competition where you can do your own rant over “Comin Over Here” and help keep the anti-xenophobia vibe that fuelled the Brexit No.1 campaign alive. Record yourself ranting over the “Singalong Version” of “Comin Over Here” (available on all formats of the Comin’ Over Here EP) and send us a video or audio to singalongwithstew@gmail.com by May 1st. The best ones will win a vinyl copy of our album “Access Denied” signed by us and Stewart Lee and we will post them to our social media platforms.
