Albanian-born artist Amelile is stepping confidently onto the international stage with the release of her latest single, ‘H.E.L.L.O’, a vibrant, flirtatious pop anthem that blends sensuality with optimism. We spoke to her about the new track and more:

When did you begin singing/songwriting?

I started singing when I was around six years old. When my parents discovered that I could sing, they were very supportive and made sure I performed in different talent shows and festivals. So, I’d say my childhood was mostly spent on stage performing and singing.

What is your earliest musical memory?

I remember when I was young I would sing with my grandma all the time at home. She was my first vocal coach in a way. Even though she couldn’t pursue singing herself, she was always singing and taught me songs as well. Those small moments are something that I will cherish forever.

You have your new single ‘H.E.L.L.O’ which is out now. What was the story/inspiration behind the track?

H.E.L.L.O. is very meaningful to me. It came during an unexpected moment in my life. I was going through a difficult transition in London and facing many changes that made me feel overwhelmed. I just wanted to pause the world and make music purely for fun. Then, with Connor and Trey, the producers, we decided to create something light, playful, and a little flirty. H.E.L.L.O. was the result, a surprise that reignited my passion for music. It represents a new chapter, a new beginning, and a new era that I’m so excited to share with all of you.

Was it a difficult song to write?

Not at all. H.E.L.L.O. was written in under 30 minutes. It was the fastest songwriting experience I’ve ever had. It was also my first time working with Connor and Trey, but the chemistry was instant and the vibes were amazing.

Will the track be accompanied by a visualiser?

H.E.L.L.O. will be released with short visualisers and different storytelling elements. Every song on my upcoming EP, Underskin will have its own visual component, and they’re all connected through narrative and visuals to form a bigger story.

Where did you record the single and who produced it?

I recorded the single in a studio in Camden, London. It was produced and co-written by Connor Mullally Knight and Trey Qua. They really brought the track to life, and I’m so grateful I got the chance to work with such talented people.

Do you have any interesting, funny or memorable stories from the recording sessions?

Yes! Most of the song was finished in under an hour, which still amazes me. Since it was my first session with Connor and Trey, I was a little shy at first but after two or three sessions, I really started showing my expressive side. Every session with them is fun and has positive energy, which is so important for creatives.

Did you use any particular instruments, microphones, recording equipment to help you get a particular sound/tone for the record?

We didn’t overcomplicate things—we kept the process fun and focused. I recorded with a Senheisser e965 mic that gave my vocals a clean, warm tone. Connor and Trey added synths and rhythmic textures that made the track come alive.

Which of your tracks hear you at your a) happiest, b) angriest and c) most reflective?

a) Happiest: H.E.L.L.O. for sure. It’s fun, playful, and spontaneous. Just pure joy.

b) Angriest: I don’t think I’ve written my “angriest” song yet—but who knows, maybe it’s on the way.

c) Most reflective: That would be Me Lër. I wrote and performed it when I was 15. It’s a very personal song about freedom, especially what teenagers crave but don’t always know how to express. It helped me understand how important it is to feel seen and heard while growing up.

Do you have any further music releases planned for 2025?

Absolutely. At the beginning of 2025, I started working on my EP Underskin, which includes five songs which one of them being H.E.L.L.O. Each track feels like a snapshot of a different moment in my life. Underskin is deeply personal. It helped me grow, rediscover myself, and shift direction. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt invisible or like they’re going through transformation alone.

What two things do you hope to have achieved once you have left the stage?

I hope to leave the stage knowing that I’ve made people feel something real, whether it’s joy, comfort, courage, or even just the feeling of being understood. I also want to have helped redefine what it means to be a pop artist with depth.

Do you have any favoured stage instruments, effects, pedals, microphones etc?

I might be biased, but I’d say the piano and it’s the only instrument I play! That said, I love other instruments too, especially the violin and traditional Albanian folk instruments like the gajde (bagpipes), flute, çifteli, and tupan (double-headed drum). I’d love to incorporate them into my music in the future.

How do you look after your voice?

I try not to speak too loudly… although being Albanian, that can be a challenge! I steam my voice and drink a lot of tea. I’ve also experimented with some homemade remedies which I must highlight , most of which don’t taste great. But milk with honey is always a go-to.

You are given the opportunity to write the score for a film adaptation of a novel that you enjoy. Which novel is it and why?

I would love to write the score for The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It’s a story about self-discovery, listening to your heart, and finding your own path, all themes that resonate deeply with me. Translating the emotional layers and symbolism of that book into music would be a beautiful challenge.

Where is your hometown and could you please describe it in five words?

I was born in Tirana, and I would describe it as: energetic, fun, colorful, young, and beautiful. And no, I’m not biased!

Do you have any live dates in the UK/Europe planned for 2025/2026?

Not yet, but with the EP coming out, that might change—stay tuned!

What makes Amelile happy and what makes you unhappy?

Amelile is the happiest when she’s surrounded by the people she loves and when she feels free and understood. What makes me unhappy is when I don’t have freedom something that is not negotiable.
