Infected Rain is a Moldovan heavy metal band consisting of Lena Scissorhands (Vocals), Vidick (Guitar), Alice Lane (Bass) and Eugeniu Voluta (Drums). Lena Scissorhands very kindly chatted to us about their new album ‘TIME’ and more:

What is your earliest musical memory?

My earliest musical memory is from my parents, rehearsal with their dancing troop when I was very little.

You have released the single “PANDEMONIUM.” What is the story/inspiration behind the song?

“Pandemonium” reflects the chaos and turmoil in both personal and societal contexts. It addresses the struggle within ourselves and the external conflicts we face.

The single is accompanied by an official music video. What was the thought process behind the video and who directed it?

The thought process behind the “Pandemonium” video was to visually capture the intensity and chaos described in the song. We wanted to depict a stark contrast between inner struggles and external battles. The video was directed by Vadim “Vidick” Ojog, who brought our vision to life through visual and attention to detail.

What two things do you hope to have achieved once you have left the stage?

After leaving the stage, I hope to have connected deeply with our audience, making them feel the emotions and messages in our music. Additionally, I aim to inspire and empower our fans, leaving them with a sense of strength and unity.

Do you have any favored stage instruments, effects, pedals, microphones, etc.?

I only use my microphone on stage.

At the moment I use SHURE ULXD4 with SE head.

Where is your hometown and could you please describe it in five words?

My hometown is Chișinău, Moldova. I would describe it as vibrant, historic, resilient, evolving, and soulful.

How do you look after your voice?

I take great care of my voice by staying hydrated, doing regular vocal warm-ups and exercises, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Avoiding excessive talking before shows and getting enough rest are also crucial.

Your sixth studio album “TIME” is out now. How did you want to approach the making of the album?

The album’s concept revolves around the theme of time, and we aimed to reflect that through varied musical styles and deeply personal lyrics. Each song made to capture different aspects and moments of time, creating a cohesive yet diverse listening experience.

Where did you record the album and who produced it?

We recorded “TIME” with Valentin Voluta, who has been with us since the first album, produced, mixed, and mastered the album. We love working together.

You are given the opportunity to write the score for a film adaptation of a novel that you enjoy. Which novel is it and why?

I would love to write the score for a film adaptation of ” Dracula “ I always loved the folklore around this character.
