Beaks Announces Debut Album ALDIE Due This November + Shares Reflective ‘little silver’
Beaks returns with a new single and video ‘little silver’, drawn from her forthcoming debut album, ALDIE arriving this November via dottidot.
Continuing Beaks’ artistic stride and poetic lyricism, ‘little silver’ finds light through self-reflection. Describing the track in her own words as “a letter to myself.”, the track weaves together references to Pete Doherty’s ‘A Little Death Around the Eyes’ and Nirvana’s ‘Sliver’, while also featuring the recurring lyric “Go outside and ride your bike”, which echoes her previously released single ‘Crosswalk’ and its line, “I ran a red light on my new bike, the faster I go, the quicker the tears dry.”
On ALDIE, Beaks explores the space between dreams and reality, examining the internal and external forces that blur the boundaries between the two. Created during a period of personal turbulence, the record moves without sonic limits through a visceral blend of indie, pop, punk and electronic, cutting through the noise of a burgeoning landscape.
Produced in collaboration with close friend Markus Windisch, ALDIE is replete with literary, cinematic and musical references to filter snapshots of life through her own writings, sometimes existentialist, sometimes orientated towards the pressure of modernity, sometimes both.
The project of experimental post-punk artist and writer Anna Francesca from Vienna, Beaks weaves revealing poetry through bodied anthems, landing somewhere in between waking life and a dream-sequence. A multidisciplinary artist, Beaks studied photography and graphic design while working as an international model, having walked for high-profile brands including Celine, Vivienne Westwood, Miu Miu, Chanel and more. Modeling, however, was always a side quest. In 2023 she released her debut single ‘I Dropped the Bottle’, which has since seen over 4 million streams and performed across tours in London, Tokyo and Berlin, cementing Beaks’ position as a resonant and immersive artist across multiple formats.
Shown through her earlier single ‘TY (robbed the bank)’, which left a mark through support across The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland, VISLA, NOTION and more, Beaks crafts an emotionally charged and off-kilter sonic world via songwriting and true self-expression that embraces contradiction, tracing the coexistence between ecstasy and despair with lyrical precision.
