Ferris & Sylvester are a duo who like their contempories Ward Thomas, Wildwood Kin and The Sisterhood create beautiful harmonies together which allows not only their original material to flourish but their takes on classic British tunes as well. With a busy summer packed with festival appearances make sure you catch them live!

Critically acclaimed duo Ferris & Sylvester have today released their live cover of The Kinks classic ode to London, ‘Waterloo Sunset’.

Regarding the choice of cover Ferris & Sylvester say, “We chose this song because we think it absolutely encapsulates what it means to be young, lost and living in London. It ties in with all the themes behind our ‘Made In Streatham EP’ and pays homage to truly amazing, timeless songwriting.”

Following their take on ‘Waterloo Sunset’ going down a storm at Radio 2 when the pair played it live in session for the station, Ferris & Sylvester have decided to officially release the song to celebrate their festival season.

Commenting on their version Ray Davies of The Kinks said: “I like the way they approach the song. Sharing the lead lines by moving around the harmonies and, at times singing unison, then switching back and forth to harmony again gives the record freshness. The instrumental sections are powerful without being overbearing and the simplicity is refreshing. It makes me feel as though I could write for this band. Well done.”

It marks the beginning of a busy summer of high profile shows for the pair, which includes supporting Robert Plant at The Bath Festival on 27th May, playing with James Blunt at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea on June  and opening for Gary Barlow at Blenheim Palace on 17th June. A full list of festival appearances can be found below.
