GoodThing Shares New Single ‘I Like The Way I Feel’
Following the tracks premiere on BBC Radio 1, Nottingham, now London based solo artist GoodThing shares the infectious new single ‘I Like The Way I Feel’.
Categorising his unique style as “Tarantino Disco”, GoodThing’s blend of neo-soul, electronica, disco and dreampop shines bright on the new single. Inspired by the creative sampling of Gorillaz & Air, and the hypnotic groove of Primal Scream & SAULT, the multi-instrumentalist ultimately settles which brings together funk-flavoured rhythms and vibrant, inventive production akin to the likes of Jungle and BADBADNOTGOOD.
Produced by Callum McGuinness at Moss Studios, ‘I Like The Way I Feel’ highlights both GoodThing’s intricate musicality and his instinct for breezy, effortlessly cool soundscaping. Opening with cut-up guitar loops and field recordings, the track quickly slips into a world of funky, swinging rhythms and buoyant basslines. Topped with half-spoken vocals, it’s as danceable as it is inventive, pairing vivid, playful lyricism with infectious beats and creative sampling that swirl together in a joyous, free-spirited groove.
Speaking about the track, Jordan explains. “I like the way I feel” sample that opens the track, this single is a celebration of feeling good, moving on pure intuition against the odds, and the power of self belief. With shades of disco groove, electronic, and golden era hip hop sampling it’s a homage to trusting your gut and following whatever makes you feel good. Recorded in a day with Callum McGuinness at Moss Studios, lyrically the song explores the tension and irony between dreaming big and the ways we can unknowingly hold ourselves back from getting there. “You know I would if I could but I struggle to change…”
Visually GoodThing draws on style references collected from film (Goodfellas, the Godfather) and fashion (vintage adidas adverts) to create his own aesthetic and world. Having quickly established himself with a series of live shows around London and early tastemaker support from the likes of BBC Introducing East Midlands, receiving rotation on BBC Radio Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby, GoodThing is ready to take the project to the next level in 2026.
