Harry Pane Announces New Single and 2017 UK Tour. The single ‘Fletcher Bay’ is taken from his new EP ‘The Wild Winds’.
The track is ‘Fletcher Bay’ and has a very touching story behind it. Named after Fletcher Bay in New Zealand, Harry wrote the song in tribute to his late father who sadly passed away last year, as they both shared a personal and emotional connection with the beautiful location. Following this tragedy Harry returned their to scatter his fathers ashes, which became the inspiration behind the track.
Along with the release of the track Harry announced his forthcoming EP The Wild Winds, which will be released Friday 7th April 2017 and was recorded with Dani Castelar (Paolo Nutini, REM, Snow Patrol) in Valencia at the start of the year. It was funded by Island Records after Harry was picked as the winner of #Roadtothe100Club, a competition organised by PRS for Music, with judges including former PRS chairman Guy Fletcher O.B.E and Annie Christensen (A&R Island Records). This follows his acclaimed EP Changing, which came out last year and saw him gain support from the likes of BBC Introducing London, BBC Northampton and John Kennedy at Radio X.
Last year alone Harry clocked-up over 200 live shows including sold-out shows in London and festivals such as Glastonbury and SXSW.
“The new single ‘Fletcher Bay’ has strong production values which don’t diminish the tender lyrics or Harry Pane’s raspy voice. If you enjoy the sounds of The Lumineers or Morcheeba then the emotional yet chilled out vibe from this track might be for you. The one thing you can say about Harry Pane and his new single though is that it is genuine. That’s what is really important.” – Glenn Sargeant Just Listen To This
