Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds LIVE! THE CONCERT EXPERIENCE – 2026 UK Tour Announced
Announcing the world’s first ever official The War of the Worlds double-album concert experience LIVE!….allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the pure artistry of the music.
Hot on the heels of its hugely successful 2025 UK arenas tour, the iconic Jeff Wayne musical masterpiece is back with Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds LIVE! THE CONCERT EXPERIENCE. For the first time ever, the incredible The War of the Worlds original double-album, which spent a record breaking 330 weeks in the UK charts on original release, will be brought to life through a full 15-date UK theatre tour, throughout October 2026. The Live Concert Experience (steered by, but not starring, Jeff Wayne), will immerse audiences into the musical craftmanship of the original double-album. Stripped back from the show-stopping big stars and giant Martian fighting machines of previous The War of The Worlds tours, the 2026 theatre tour brings it all back to where it began – the music, of the original 1970s chart-busting double-album, in the live format. Tickets on general sale from Friday 28 November 2025.
Where previous live The War of the Worlds tour have brought stars of stage and screen to re-enact HG Wells’ gripping tale of Martian invasion, the new 2026 theatre tour instead brings the full double-album to life through a concert experience of live artists, band, orchestra and video. A complete live double- album encounter, the 2026 Concert Experience gets closer to the music than ever before, immersing the audience into the musical mind of its creator, Jeff Wayne; who has hand-curated and produced this tour.
Jeff Wayne comments,“Over the many years since my musical version was released, TWOTW has been performed as a concert rendition hundreds of times – but almost all have been international productions. It’s therefore a great thrill to announce that a special concert rendition of my original double album is to tour the UK throughout October next year – a first of its kind on our home shores.
Jeff goes on to add, “Performing at concert and theatre venues, it will give the audiences a different perspective of my musical version, stripping the ‘spectacle’ of my arena tours back down to its foundation…the music! For this concert tour, I’ll be stepping back from the podium, but the production will showcase exceptional artists from the West End and other major performing mediums, supported by a band, orchestra, animation and other concert elements. It will stand as a true companion to my arena tours.”
As one of the longest running albums in chart history, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds LIVE! The Concert Experience is a rare opportunity for The War of the Worlds fans to delight in the full double-album in the live format, brought to its full musical potential through a live orchestra, band and artists. This is one invasion not to be missed, ULLA!
