Kay Iris Release New Single ‘The Other Side’
Unearth the Rockin’ Americana sound of Kay Iris…
Following their Summer festival appearances at main stage slots at the Pub In The Park festival, The Vegan Campout, and Country Calling, the Hastings-based musicians are pleased to announce their brand-new single ‘The Other Side’ which is out now.
Alongside festivals, Kay Iris supported Doves at the Summer Nights by the Sea festival at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, Chantel McGregor at The Carlisle in Hastings and Picture Parlour at The Piper in Hastings which was part of their Independent Venue Tour in partnership with Music Venue Trust in July 2025.
Kay Iris also opened for The Lottery Winners at The De La Warr Pavillion in May 2025.
The legendary radio presenter John Kennedy from Radio X picked the band to open for the event- he also hosted it and leading up to the evening their song ‘Stories We Tell’ featured multiple times on Radio X.
Discussing the new track, Kay Iris explained:
“See life from…
The Other Side explores the topic of circumstance- when and where you were born, the working class and the elite, self-starters Vs nepotism. As independent artists these things all become so apparent when you reach a certain level in the industry. We wanted to create an empowering anthem that would ignite the heart of anyone who wasn’t happy with their lot in life and remind them you can achieve your goals with enough grit and determination.”

Their signature sound incorporates Country, Americana and Rock, with distinct compositions that combine ethereal vocals, memorable riffs and thought-provoking lyrics. Taking inspiration from ‘Fleetwood Mac, Tedeschi Trucks Band’, ‘Joni Mitchell’ and ‘Laci Kaye Booth’.
Creating sounds for sustainability – Kay Iris intends to use their platform to help promote sustainable and ethical lifestyle choices. Past projects include their ‘One Tank One Tree’ tour, in which they partnered with ‘Tree Nation’ to donate trees to reforestation projects, based on how far they travelled. Looking forward, they hope to attain a line of sustainable and ethically sourced merchandise, to perform at ecofriendly festivals such as ‘Shambala’, ‘Green Man’, ‘Boomtown’ as well as supporting conservational charities and venues.
