Lang Lang Announces Chopin & Schumann One Off Live Performance In Glasgow 2025
Piano icon of our time, Lang Lang, transcends eras as he brings to life the melodic genius of two of the greatest composers and pianists of all time, Chopin & Schumann, in one very special performance of their works at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Monday 21st April 2025.
Exploring the magic of Chopin’s famous Mazurkas dance-miniatures, Lang Lang performs a hand selected collection ranging from Op 1 right through to Op 59, with a very special performance of Chopin’s piano solo Polonaise in F# minor Op.44. With his mazurkas, Chopin formed an unparalleled archetype of the musical stylisation of traditional, national, authentic folk repertory, which will be gloriously realised through the incomparable genius of Lang Lang in this live performance. Viewed by many as Schumann’s greatest ever work, and dedicated to Frederic Chopin, Lang Lang will also reignite the live exuberance of the eight movement Kreisleriana, Op. 16. Dramatic and moving, Schumann stated that this was his most favourite work.
19th Century pianists without equal in their generation, brought to life at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall by the untouchable pianist of our generation – the legend that is Lang Lang.
