London Alt-Rock Solo Artist Marta Vega Dissects Trust Issues On ‘OMG! I’m in Love’
London based, Italian alt-rock riser Marta Vega returns with the fuzzy, infectious new single ‘OMG I’m In Love’.
Blending grunge, alt-rock and post-punk into a sound that is raw, visceral and irresistibly melodic, Vega had already built acclaim across both tastemaker press and national radio. A self-described “lesbian grunge soul”, Marta’s music is both emotionally raw and irresistibly melodic, carving out a space where grunge grit meets pop vulnerability. Drawing inspiration from the brooding intensity of Joy Division, the riot grrrl energy of Hole and L7, and the hook-driven sensibility of pop, she is carving out a distinctive space in the modern alternative landscape.
Fuzzy guitars, haunting basslines and soaring melodies collide in songs that are equal parts cathartic and addictive. Backed by her band, Vega delivers a compelling mix of grit, vulnerability and infectious hooks, balancing unfiltered emotion with a sharp melodic edge. Her music thrives on the tension between darkness and euphoria, creating a sound that feels authentic, immediate and instantly memorable.
The new single ‘OMG I’m In Love’, was produced by Andrea Tripodi (Bambole di Pezza, Adriano Celentano, Gianluca Grignani) and mastered by Stefan Brown at Abbey Road Studios. The track brings together Vega’s rock instincts and an undeniable pop sensibility, driven by punchy drums, gritty guitar lines and towering melodies.
With its huge, radio-ready production and relentless energy, ‘OMG I’m In Love’ captures the raw intensity of Vega’s live sound while showcasing her gift for writing infectious, emotionally charged songs. It is a bold statement from an artist who thrives where grit meets melody, and darkness collides with euphoria.
Talking about the recording of the track, Marta Vega explains:
“This single is about dating when you have trust issues, I’d say. It explores the relationship between falling in love and not wanting to, because you might get hurt or feel exposed. It’s also about liking someone who you shouldn’t be liking, so you kind of develop this relationship with the feeling of, ‘Yeah, I want it, but I shouldn’t,’ which I think develops into limerence. But also, it’s not that deep. I’d say it’s more important what it means to you rather than why it was written.”
Having gained early support from tastemaker press including Notion, Louder Than War, Loud Women, Ones To Watch, Psychedelic Baby Magazine and Lock Magazine, Marta has quickly established herself as an artist to watch. With multiple plays from Alex Baker on Kerrang! Radio, alongside Spotify Editorial placements on All New Rock UK, Rock Italia, New Music Friday and Equal Italia, Vega is building serious momentum. With a feverish and growing following of 10K on TikTok and 5K on Instagram, she has also sold out shows across the UK.
