Nocturne Live Festival Announces First Headliner. Nocturne will be returning to the Great Court at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire between 15th – 18th June 2017 for its third series of concerts.
In only its third year, Nocturne has already played host to some incredible nights of music. From Van Morrison and Gregory Porter opening the 2015 series in fine style, to Elton John and his band bringing the house down to close 2016, Nocturne has firmly established itself as an incomparable live music experience.
The festival’s first headliner has been announced as Max Richter Ensemble.
Max Richter, hailed by many as the most influential composer of his generation, will perform a UK Exclusive concert at this summer’s Nocturne series. Richter will bring his 22-piece orchestra to the Palace’s Great Court to perform music from his acclaimed Vivaldi Recomposed project, a reworking of Vivaldi’s timeless masterpiece, as well as a performance of ‘On The Nature Of Daylight’, which features in the nine-time Bafta nominated sci-fi film ‘Arrival’, and the world premiere of his brand new project Three Worlds: Music From Woolf Works.
Drawn from his music to Wayne McGregor’s award-winning Royal Ballet production Woolf Works, this new project is inspired by the works of Virginia Woolf and is built around themes from three of her novels: Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves.
Tickets for Max Richter’s performance at Nocturne start at £40 each and are on sale now.
