Persian – American Pop Sensation SHAB Follows First U.S. Top 40 Hit With Fearless Anthem ‘Dance ‘Til You’re Free’
Immediately following her debut on the U.S. Radio Top 40 Pop Chart, Persian-American refugee and Choose Love ambassador SHAB returns with the glowing new single ‘Dance ‘Til You’re Free,’ a high-energy, danceable anthem selected from her acclaimed sophomore album ‘ONE SUITCASE’.
Blended with a soulful melody and glossy rhythm, the Iranian- born refugee artist offers a compelling and powerful message urging the world to move to its beat, rise, and celebrate freedom through the heart of music.
Written and produced alongside long- time collaborator Damon Sharpe and Eric Sanicola, ‘Dance ‘Til You’re Free’ reflects on sisterhood and losing herself to dance as she faced the harrowing fundamentalist regime in Iran. Blending nostalgia with an uplifting call to action, this melodic synth-driven frenzy bursts into a club-ready chorus – her most infectious yet, and sure to inspire anyone to let go and embrace their freedom.
The track urges joy; driven by her signature soulful tone, radiant lyricism and empowering video enriched in bold symbolism. Echoing the imagery of women’s rights campaigners in Iran, she breaks into a fluid dance sequence, draped in a flowing gown and crowned with a glistening gold tiara-like a princess leading a movement. The result is both powerful and spiritual, amplifying the track’s liberating spirit and important message.
Reflecting on the single, SHAB shared: ‘During our time under the fundamentalist regime in Iran, my sisters & I would throw impromptu dance parties towards forgetting our troubles and the oppressive world that surrounded us. This song is a memorial to that time but also a call to action for the oppressed everywhere.’
In anticipation of ‘ONE SUITCASE’, SHAB proudly announced her new role as an ambassador for Choose Love—a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting refugees worldwide. Her personal history aligns perfectly with the organisation’s mission, making her a compelling and authentic voice for the cause. In a powerful show of solidarity with refugees, SHAB has pledged all profits from sales of the ‘ONE SUITCASE’ album to Choose Love. While advocating for female empowerment and the women of Iran, she hopes to raise awareness for Choose Love alongside high-profile supporters such as Oprah, Benedict Cumberbatch, Julia Roberts, Gemma Chan, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, James Corden, Dermot O’Leary, and Olivia Colman, among many others.
