Red Rooster Festival Announces First Wave Of Artists For 2025
Red Rooster Festival has announced its first wave of artists for the 2025 edition.
The festival will take place between 29th -31st May 2025 at Euston Hall, Suffolk, United Kingdom. The first wave of artists have been announced and include:
JD McPherson
JD McPherson is back and plays his first UK shows in 7 years on the back of his brilliant new album Nite Owls. JD has crafted a unique blend of rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, R&B and expands his sound on Nite Owls with touches of glam, new wave, post-punk, and surf rock. Recorded live in Chicago, Nite Owls includes standout tracks like the infectious “Sunshine Getaway” and the soulful “I Can’t Go Anywhere With You.” Recently, JD toured with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, an experience that influenced this album, which reflects his evolving style and gratitude for music.
Samantha Fish
Samantha Fish has blown the traditional blues scene apart with her raw, unpolished energy. In 2024, she earned a Grammy nomination with Jesse Dayton for Death Wish Blues, topped the Billboard Blues Charts, toured with Slash, opened for The Rolling Stones, and joined the Experience Hendrix tour with blues legends. Performing nearly 200 shows a year, Fish continues to captivate fans and is hailed as “one of the new guitar greats” by Garden & Gun and “one of the most promising young blues performers” by The New York Times.
Jerron Paxton
Jerron Paxton made his UK debut two weeks ago playing Later with Jools on BBC 2 after the release of his debut album Things Done Changed on Smithsonian Folkways in October. Jerron is a charismatic multi instrumentalist effortlessly switching between acoustic guitar, fiddle , harp and bones playing the early music of pre war blues, rag time, bluegrass , jazz and lots more. Things Done Changed is an album of original songs that sound beamed in from nearly a century ago, when jazz and blues were performed as a means of both personal and cultural survival. Lick by lick, Paxton builds a bridge between generations gone and generations to come, singing the heartaches and joys of the past and present.
Thee Sinseers
East L.A.’s Thee Sinseers, fronted by multi-instrumentalist Joseph Quiñones and featuring a standout brass section, bring a fresh take on soul music with a blend of nostalgic and modern elements. Part of Colemine Records, they debuted with singles “It Was Only A Dream” and “I Don’t Mind” in 2019, with their first full album, Sinseerly Yours, coming in March 2024. Their music has been featured in Self Reliance and Riverdale, and they’ve captivated fans across soul hotspots nationwide.
The Altons
The Altons, rising stars from Southeast LA’s “souldies” scene, have moved from local clubs to major stages like Austin City Limits and Montreal Jazz Festival. Signed to Daptone’s Penrose imprint, their debut album Heartache in Room 14, featuring standout tracks like “Waiting” and “Del cielo te cuido,” blends bolero roots with modern soul. Set for early 2025, the album highlights their soulful storytelling and captivating vocals.
