Rewind Festival 2016 – An Introduction
The popular Rewind festivals make 80’s acts accessible to fans in many parts of the UK and tap into the acts’ fanbases whose common features are that they buy recordings, buy merchandise, get out to live shows and like to meet the performers if at all possible. A lot of 80’s music in Europe was horribly i e fashionably produced with clattery electronic percussion, tinny keyboards playing simplistic lines and with more time spent of make up than tuning up..BUT the actual songs could hit a high standard. What radio picked up on and played then can still sound enjoyable today. many of the acts had at least two and sometimes three, four, five or more compositions that you could rightfully dub ‘classic’. Rewind cherry picks the best of the acts of the era and packages them up into great afternoons and evenings in comfortable surroundings.
