Album anniversaries are a big deal for artists and bands especially when that particular album generates extensive radio airplay and big sales. Three immensly popular acts are now hitting the road to celebrate…
GUN, FM, and Dan Reed Network are hitting the road in December 2019, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1989 albums ‘Taking On The World’, ‘Tough It Out’ and ‘Slam’ by performing them in full.
Back in 1989, three bands from both sides of the pond all released albums that would go on to be regarded as some of their finest work.
The ten-date UK tour will commence on Monday 9th December 2019 at O2 Academy, Bristol, United Kingdom and will wrap up on 21st December 2019 at Barrowland, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

GUN released ‘Taking On The World’ in July 1989 which was produced by Kenny MacDonald. ‘Better Days’ and ‘Shame On You’ both charted in the UK Top 40 and resulted in not only a debut performance on Top Of The Pops but also a slot opening for the Rolling Stones across Europe on the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour.
Having finished touring with Bon Jovi on the ‘Slippery When Wet’ Tour, FM recorded their second studio album ‘Tough It Out’ in CBS Rooftop Studios (London) and Air Studios (London). Produced by Neil Kernon, the album was released in October 1989 on Epic Records.
Releasing ‘Slam’ in October 1989 as well, Dan Reed Network dialled into the demand for something different – using celebrated producer Nile Rodgers to inject some serious funk into their soft rock mix.
‘Slam’ produced four singles and resulted in high-profile support slots with both Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones.
