The Thompson Twins singer and writer must be doing something right to be still in demand since those radio hits of The Eighties. About time for a solo record? Why not, indeed…
Tom Bailey’s long awaited debut solo album ‘Science Fiction’ will be released in July 2018. Whilst Tom has been prolific in the genres of dub, world music and audio visual projects over the last 2 decades this will be the Thompson Twins front man’s first ‘pop’ record since Babble’s 1996 release ‘Ether’.
Bailey has set up a PledgeMusic page for ‘Science Fiction’ and you can pre-order the album and find out more information here: http://bit.ly/2Ic1plW
Tom Bailey has written the following message to his fans:
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the PledgeMusic page for my new album ‘Science Fiction’. I so much enjoyed playing concerts around the world over the last couple of years, that I began working behind the scenes on writing, recording and mixing the songs in this collection. As you know, I have concentrated on other areas of music for the past couple of decades – but I find it incredibly rewarding to be making pop music again. There’s something so special about the way this kind of music works and, for me, it’s like finding a long lost friend.
So I must thank you all for your amazing support: it’s your enthusiasm which has brought me back to this point. I hope you enjoying listening to it as much as I have loved making it.
With best wishes to all,
Tom
In addition, Tom Bailey will perform at summer festivals, join a-ha on the UK leg of their Electric Summer World Tour and then return to the UK in November to tour with Culture Club and Belinda Carlisle. You can read our announcement of that tour here: http://bit.ly/2H1IPZr
