Willie Jones Fuses Country and Hip-Hop in Major Label Debut Album “Something To Dance To”
Country-trap icon Willie Jones is set to make his major label debut with the release of “Something To Dance To” on June 16. The album, a collaboration between Sony Music Nashville and The Penthouse, showcases Jones’ unique fusion of traditional country and Louisiana hip-hop. The title track, co-written by Jones, Eric Arjes, and Cary Barlowe, is available for streaming now.
“Something To Dance To” aims to bring energy, positivity, and celebration to listeners. As Jones puts it, “If we’re gonna show up, let’s show out and have some fun!” The album delves into various aspects of Jones’ life, from heartbreak to growth, and captures the essence of being human.
The title track sets the tone for the album with its up-tempo beat and a blend of musical influences, including Motown, trap, Marley, and Springsteen. The song is a testament to the power of music in uniting people from all walks of life.
Jones recently concluded his “Sticks and Swamp Tour” with co-headliner RVSHVD, wrapping up at Nashville’s renowned Exit/In venue. He is also scheduled to perform at various festivals over the summer, including CMA Fest, Golden Sky, and Bourbon & Beyond.
“Something To Dance To” features a diverse tracklist, with each song showcasing Jones’ genre-blending style. The album promises to be an exciting addition to the music world, appealing to fans of both country and hip-hop alike.
