Jack Savoretti Featuring Nile Rodgers – Who’s Hurting Who (Single)
Singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti is a man who has the ability to make people smile, think and even cry with his emotionally charged material. With 2021 putting a pause on live gigs and festivals, Jack Savoretti hunkered down to record a new LP.
His first single to be taken from his forthcoming album ‘Europina’ is ‘Who’s Hurting Who’ and is the perfect taster for new music.
Recorded in Savoretti’s Oxfordshire home studio, the song features music legend, hit-maker and CHIC bandleader Nile Rodgers who not only co-wrote it with Savoretti and Mark Ralph, but he also co-produced and laid down some incredibly funky guitar (would we expect anything less though?)
The rich strings are performed by Nikolaj Torp (he also provided piano and Wurlitzer organ) and arranged by Davide Rossi whose past credits include Coldplay and Australian brothers For King & Country and they complement the disco vibes and remind me of Massive Attack at times.
Savoretti’s velvety voice makes this the perfect summer driving song with the car roof down and the volume up as it dances with Jesper Lind’s groovy drums and Ralph’s tight bass with such ease. When outdoor music events and festivals can resume, this will get the crowds moving I reckon. In addition, it has real potential to be popular on the nightclub scene especially if they have recorded any remixes.
I do have to also give a mention to the engineer’s Josh Green, Gemma Chester and Mastering engineer Matt Colton for the slick and clean finished product showing that this is a solid team effort.
Overall, ‘Who’s Hurting Who’ allows the listener to hear the many different music sides to Mr Jack Savoretti and if you enjoyed his song ‘Whiskey Tango’ then this single might appeal to you. So when you get ready to meet up with your friends for summer drinks make sure to add this to your playlist.
Jack Savoretti’s new single ‘Who’s Hurting Who’ featuring Nile Rodgers is out now on EMI Records. His new album ‘Europina’ is released on Friday 25th June 2021 also on EMI Records. For more information visit: https://www.jacksavoretti.com/
