DODGY Announce New Album and Release New Single
Britpop originals Dodgy launch the next chapter of their return with a brand-new single, album confirmation, a UK tour and anniversary celebrations for one of the defining albums of the 90s.
The band have released their new single “It’s Not The End”, out now and the next track to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Hello Beautiful‘, confirmed for release on Friday 1st May 2026. The announcement comes as momentum continues to build following the success of comeback single “Hello Beautiful”, which recently delivered the band’s first Top 40 chart appearance in over a decade.
“It’s Not The End” shows another side to the forthcoming album. Melancholic yet uplifting, it blends classic Dodgy melody with a more reflective tone, capturing the band sounding older, wiser and still unmistakably themselves.
Singer Nigel Clark explains: “It’s Not The End’ was arranged really quickly in the studio during the sessions for the new album. It started with a simple lyric that felt really direct and honest, and the song just seemed to guide us where it wanted to go. It became an instant favourite. Reviews have said it sounds like an older, wiser, deeper Dodgy, which is exactly how I’d want us to sound in 2026.”
Drummer Mathew Priest says: “It feels like the right time for the band. The reaction to the new music has been brilliant and we’re really looking forward to taking these songs out around the country. Independent venues are where we started and they’re still the lifeblood of live music, so it’s important for us to keep playing them.”
New Album Confirmed: Hello Beautiful
‘Hello Beautiful’ will be Dodgy’s sixth studio album and their first full release since 2016’s What Are We Fighting For. Recorded by original members Nigel Clark, Mathew Priest and Andy Miller alongside long-time collaborators Stu Thoy and Graham Mann, the record sees the band reconnecting with the melodic optimism that first made them one of Britain’s most loved guitar bands, while bringing the perspective of three decades of shared history.
Hello Beautiful – UK Album Tour 2026
To celebrate the album, Dodgy will head out across the UK this spring, continuing their long-standing commitment to playing independent venues wherever possible and supporting the grassroots circuit that first helped launch their career.
Free Peace Sweet turns 30
Later in 2026, Dodgy will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album Free Peace Sweet with a series of very special shows featuring guests The Icicle Works.
Originally released in 1996, Free Peace Sweet delivered some of the band’s biggest songs and remains one of the defining British guitar albums of the era, featuring hits including “Good Enough”, “In A Room”, “If You’re Thinking Of Me” and “Found You”.
The anniversary shows promise a full celebration of the album alongside fan favourites from across the catalogue.
Nigel added: “We’ve been through so much together as a band, and the fact we’re still here making new records and playing shows we genuinely love is something we don’t take for granted. The new album feels like a fresh start, and celebrating Free Peace Sweet at the same time makes 2026 feel pretty special for us.”
Still writing their story
Formed in the late 1980s, Dodgy went on to become one of the defining bands of the 90s British guitar boom, releasing five albums, selling more than two million records and landing 12 UK Top 40 singles. Their enduring hit “Good Enough” remains one of the most played songs on British radio of the last three decades.
Still fronted by original members Nigel Clark, Mathew Priest and Andy Miller, the band continue to evolve while retaining the optimism and melodic instinct that first connected them with audiences more than thirty years ago. With new music arriving, a major UK tour confirmed and anniversary celebrations on the horizon, Dodgy head into 2026 busier – and sounding stronger – than they have in years.
