Double MOBO Award-winning singer Kele Le Roc, the unmistakable voice behind UK Garage anthems “My Love” and “Things We Do for Love”, returns with a striking reinvention of the Radiohead classic “Creep”. We spoke to her about the track, her voice and more:

What is your earliest musical memory?

I don’t recall my earliest music memory exactly, but I do know that my mum once saw me trying to tap dance while watching a Nicholas Brothers musical. She started taking me to dance classes from around the age of three – and I guess that’s where the singing and dancing really began!

When did you begin songwriting?

As a kid, I always wrote silly songs, little ditties, and nonsense lyrics. I’d often sing my words instead of talking! But I started going to the studio properly from the age of 12.

You’ve just released your version of Radiohead’s “Creep.” How did you approach the making of the track?

Creep has always been one of my favourite songs. I remember watching Radiohead perform it years ago – I think it was on Raw Soup – and I just thought, “Wow, this song is incredible.” Their video is so simple and profound, yet powerful.

I sing Creep regularly during my Wednesday residency at Sheesh in Mayfair with my band. It’s always a crowd favourite. The song has been covered so many times, but I felt like I could bring my own magic and perspective to it.

Where did you record the song, and who produced it?

I recorded Creep with my SINC records family – Desmond Lambert, Chris Manoe, Ross O’Reilly, and Alle Pearse. It was a real team effort, and we captured it very organically.

Do you have any funny or memorable moments from the recording session?

Not really funny – but it was a great session. I’d been singing Creep for so long that it was almost second nature, so we pretty much nailed it in an hour – BVs and everything!

Did you use any particular instruments or recording techniques to achieve the sound?

There was a lot of whispering, talking, and layering going on to create this eerie, atmospheric edge to the vocal. If you listen closely, you can actually hear that texture – it adds a haunting intimacy to the track.

The track is accompanied by a short film. What was the creative process behind it?

The short film was a concept that Director, Chris Manoe and I created together. He wrote the storyboard and I absolutely loved it.

It was shot by Cinematographer, Samuel Hosier , who did a phenomenal job.

As a creative, when you watch it you can really see the nods to film noir and classic horror influences. It’s dark, cinematic, and exquisitely shot.

Which of your tracks reflects you at your happiest, angriest, and most reflective?

That’s a tricky one! I’d probably need to think more about that – it depends on my mood (and maybe the day of the week!).

Where is your hometown, and how would you describe it in five words?

I grew up in East London. I don’t live there anymore, but if I had to describe it in five words: community, family, happy, fun, and friendship.

How do you look after your voice?

Honey and ginger are my go-tos. I do warm-ups and steam daily – or at least, I try to be that disciplined! Especially before and after gigs. I also take vocal drops and special support supplements for vocal health.

Do you have any upcoming live dates in 2025/2026?

Yes, loads! I regularly post all my shows on Instagram – @KeleLeRoc. I’ll also be back at the O2 Arena with Garage Nation on April 2nd, 2026.

What two things do you hope to have achieved once you leave the stage?

I hope everyone has had an amazing time and felt the energy. My aim is to lift people’s vibrations and send that joy out into the universe. That’s the real reward for me.

Do you have any favourite stage instruments or effects?

I don’t really play an instrument on stage, but I love using a wireless mic. It gives me the freedom to move – and I definitely like to prance about when I perform!

If you could write the score for a film based on a novel, which would it be and why?

I’ll be honest – I haven’t read many novels lately (I’m more of a self-help book girl!). But I remember Fifty Shades of Grey having an incredible soundtrack, so maybe something like that – something with atmosphere, sensuality, and mood.

Do you have any new music coming in 2026?

Yes! I’ve got a brand new solo album on the way – a live compilation with my full band called Le Roc Music Volume One. It’s all original material, and I’m so excited to share it. I’m also appearing with two tracks on ‘Trinity – Singers Inc.Vol. 3’ with my fellow artists @ SINC records

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

Prince will always be number one. No one can touch him – he lives in my head, heart, and soul. But I also love Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Fleetwood Mac, MJ, Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Rihanna. I just love good music -across every genre – and I see listening as a form of education for artists.

What makes you happy, and what makes you unhappy?

Happiness for me is being healthy, content, and surrounded by my loved ones.

What makes me sad is seeing so much suffering and greed in the world – power-hungry people creating pain just for profit when they already have more than enough.

It’s heartbreaking feeling powerless to stop it sometimes, but I always try to spread love and light where I can.
