My Glass World are no strangers to us at JLTT. They have released their new album ‘Stranded Assets’ on Luxury Noise Records so it seemed like a great time for a chat:

You have the single ‘You Can Feel It Coming’ out now. What was the inspiration/story behind the track?

I was trying to write something powerful and immediate..

Did you collaborate with anyone on your new music in terms of the writing?

Only with Sean Read and usually not on the writing but we do sometimes collaborate.

In addition, your seventh album ‘Stranded Assets’ is released out now. How did you want to approach the making of the album?

I wanted a collection of songs that had connection and were thoroughly considered.

Where did you record the album and who produced it?

Recorded it In “Luxury Noise” Scotland and “Famous Times” London.

Do you have any interesting, funny or memorable stories from the album recording sessions?

Never spend too long worrying about something that you cannot fix. Sometimes we have pressed on and ended up somewhere other than where the original song was pointing .. You Can feel it Coming” being an example

Do you use any particular instruments, microphones, recording equipment to help you get a particular sound/tone for the album?

Consistently the lead vocals always sound better recorded through Sean’s Neumann mics at Famous Times

Which of your new album tracks hear you at your a) happiest, b) angriest and c) most reflective?

You can Feel It Coming – angriest / It’s Time – happiest / Words – Most reflective

Who created/designed the album artwork?

Well known Fine artist Jane Gifford who works with her dreams

Was it a difficult album to write?

Finishing it off was. Too many other distractions.

Do you have any favoured stage instruments, effects, pedals, microphones etc?

A Grand Piano if I can get one, otherwise I’ll make do with what I can lay my hands on.

How do you look after your voices?

Practise regularly, don’t sing anything “cold”

Do you have any live dates planned in the UK/Europe in 2025?

Not at the moment but we are looking into doing something soon
