Download Festival Announces Tribute to Lemmy and Lineup Additions for 2016.
This year, Download Festival’s Main Stage will be named ‘The Lemmy Stage’ in tribute to the Motörhead frontman. Organisers asnnounced the news alongside the addition of 236 new names for the bill.
A statement said, “Whilst we’re saddened to say Motörhead will no longer be performing at this year’s Download Festival, we will honour a true rock ‘n’ roll icon who inspired so many others on the bill, Lemmy Kilmister. This year, Download Festival’s Main Stage will be named ‘The Lemmy Stage’ in tribute to a much loved and missed legend. We are working with Motörhead’s management on a tribute to the great man during the slot he would have performed on, more information to follow.”
The 14th Download Festival 2016 takes place on the weekend of Friday 10th June 2016 – Sunday 12th June 2016 at Donington Park, Donington, Derbyshire, DE74 2RP, England, United Kingdom. In total around 150 acts appear over five stages over the three days of the festival.

Just to comment on some of the artists appearing, Monster Truck have recently signed to the Mascot Label and specialize in attacking Southern rock, both Shinedown and Halestorm put on energetic and crowd-pleasing performances at Wembley as part of the Carnival of Madness Tour, Saxon impressed many at last year’s Ramblin Man Fair festival, Delain have one of the best melodic metal singers on the circuit and are well worth catching live.
