Lusaint Releases New EP “Apothecary (PT.1)”
Today, Mancunian singer-songwriter Lusaint releases her brand-new EP, ‘The Apothecary (Pt. 1)’, featuring the standout lead single, ‘Lie To Yourself’—listen here. The single follows her recent soulful, jazz-infused track ‘Summertime’ and arrives on the heels of her sold-out UK headline tour in March.
‘Lie To Yourself’ bursts with infectious energy and cathartic flair, weaving soul influences with pop undertones into a captivating summer anthem. A bold contrast to Lusaint’s softer previous single, ‘Summertime’, this vibrant track showcases her dynamic range with an up-tempo groove accompanied by the rich tones of Lusaint’s effortless vocals.
Speaking on ‘Lie to Yourself’, Lusaint says: “It’s about loving the person who hurt you—and finally seeing them clearly, though you still can’t let go.” Lusaint describes ‘The Apothecary (Pt. 1)’as “A collection of songs about heartbreak, healing, and starting over. The Apothecary follows Self Sabotage—this time choosing to rebuild instead of breakdown.”
It’s been a jam-packed summer for Lusaint already, playing alongside the likes of JP Cooper, Michael Kiwanuka and Montreux Jazz Festival, with a support slot locked in with Global pop sensation Calum Scott for his UK & EU Arena tour later this year. Fans can also get their hands on a special 7″ vinyl edition of ‘The Apothecary (Pt. 1’), available exclusively on the upcoming support tour.
Growing up in the town of Stretford, Greater Manchester, a career in the music industry only ever seemed like a pipe dream for the singer-songwriter. Fast forward to 2024 and Lusaint has dispelled her own theory by clocking over eighty million streams to date and proving herself as one of the UK’s hottest newcomers, with widespread airplay from Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt and Maia Beth, as well as tips from the likes of Notion, Wonderland, F Word, and more.
Inspired by the world of jazz and blues found in her parents’ extensive record collection, Lusaint started her career covering the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone in local bars and restaurants. But then in 2019, everything changed, as her cover of En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go’ received airtime on a popular UKTV show, becoming the UK’s most Shazam’d song in one day. A cover of ‘Wicked Game’ followed, generating over 30 million views on YouTube alone, resulting in a record deal and the release of her own original music with her 2023 debut ‘Dark Horse’. Her timeless and distinctive voice saw immediate support flooding in for the singer, and has seen her fanbase continue to grow at home and abroad.
Released in September 2024, Lusaint’s debut ‘Self Sabotage’ EP has achieved over10 million streams and received enormous tastemaker support, resulting in European tour dates, festival bookings from Boardmasters to The Great Escape and Neighbourhood Festival, and support slots for the likes of Raye, Tom Grennan, Nia Archives and Jess Glynne.
As Lusaint continues her journey toward global stardom and prepares for the release of her upcoming EP, the artist has already been making waves with ‘Neon Lights’, which received four spins on BBC Radio1, and was recently awarded the BPI MEGS Fund 2025. Later this summer, the singer-songwriter will betaking playing at The Hundred x BBC Introducing stage on August 24th at Old Trafford, plus for an array of festival slots including Hit The City Festival and special headline performances at the iconic Parco Archeologico Di Paestumin Italy and Theatre Elisabethianin Conette, France.
