South Wales Rock Band The Now Return with Second Album ‘Moments in Motion’
Following a remarkable run of acclaimed singles, major festival appearances, and support slots with British ska icons Madness, South Wales four-piece The Now return with their highly anticipated second album, ‘Moments in Motion’, released 27th October 2026 via Trew Music.
More than simply a follow-up to their debut, ‘Moments in Motion’ marks a defining moment for the band. Across twelve tracks, The Now have refined the dance-infused alternative rock sound they have gradually been shaping over the last few years, embracing groove, space and melody while retaining the emotional honesty that has become their trademark.
The album opens with the title track before moving through a collection of songs exploring love, loss, obsession, hope and self-discovery. Recent singles have already offered a glimpse into its emotional breadth.
‘Wild Curse’ tells the story of two lovers brought together by fate, guided by the spirit of a guardian angel. The award-winning video earned Best Cinematography at the 2025 Europe Music Video Awards, while the single received BBC Radio Wales A-list support and featured across BBC’s Match of the Day coverage. The heartfelt ballad ‘Breathe’ pays tribute to Shane’s late relative, whose gift of a guitar first inspired his musical journey, while ‘Something Beautiful’ explores healing after heartbreak and finding hope in unexpected places. Latest single ‘Drug’ captures the intoxicating highs and destructive lows of a toxic relationship, while ‘Infection’ reflects on the individuality we’re all born with, and how life slowly attempts to reshape it.
Most of the album was produced at Summerfield Studios in Birmingham and co-produced by Alex Vesters and Shane Callaghan, ‘Moments in Motion’, whilst ‘Wild Curse’, ‘Breathe’, and ‘Something Beautiful’ were all recorded at Real World Studios and co-produced by Faye Dolle and Charles Hughes alongside Shane and Alex. Where the band’s 2024 debut, ‘Too Hot To Handle’, was built on the classic rock blueprint of quiet verses and loud choruses, ‘Moments in Motion’ embraces a more dance-driven sound, drawing on the groove of Michael Jackson, Prince and ABBA. Rather than imitating those influences, the band absorb their spirit to create a sound that feels entirely their own.
Born from the South Wales live music scene, The Now began when Callaghan and guitarist Callum Bromage met through local jam nights before deciding to write original music together. Now completed by bassist Leon O’Leary and drummer Will Scott, the band have evolved into one of the UK’s most exciting emerging rock acts.
Their music has been featured on BBC Radio 2’s The Rock Show with Johnnie Walker, Planet Rock, BBC Radio Wales, BBC’s Match of the Day, and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. Both ‘Holy’ and ‘Devil Inside Me’ were crowned “Coolest Song in the World” by Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM across North America, while ‘Devil Inside Me’ also earned Planet Rock’s Track of the Week.
Having shared stages with Reef and Florence Black, performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, completed successful UK headline tours throughout 2025 and 2026, and recently supported Madness alongside Cast, The Beat, and The Ordinary Boys in Canterbury, The Now continue their biggest year yet as they prepare to take Moments in Motion on the road this autumn.
