‘Stay My Love’ – A Duet With Sam Palladio Will Be Released This Friday (13th January 2017). The Album ‘The Waiting Game’ On Friday 10th February 2017.
Following an exciting 2016 that saw Una Healy announce plans for her debut solo album The Waiting Game and head out on tour with Ward Thomas and Maddie & Tae, Una is set to start 2017 with a bang. Today she announces that her first solo single Stay My Love, a duet with Sam Palladio, British-born star of US TV drama Nashville, will be released this Friday.
The song portrays the thoughts of two people who feel the same way about each other, but can’t find the words to say it. Co-written with Amy Wadge, Grammy-winning co-writer of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, the ballad developed into a duet and Una found the perfect singing partner in Palladio.
Speaking of duetting with Sam on Stay My Love, Una added “I love his music, his style, the Nashville country feel, it’s exactly the direction I wanted my solo music to take and I am so pleased that Sam and I duetted on this track. I am so proud of Stay My Love and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
The Irish singer-songwriter and one fifth of successful girl band The Saturdays, Una can’t wait for fans to see her return to her roots for her solo debut. The Waiting Game weaves magnetic folk, pop and rock melodies into echoes of the country music she grew up with and is available to preorder now on iTunes and Amazon.
Una has teased a couple of tracks from the new album ahead of first single Stay My Love. Angel Like You was chosen as the end credits to the film Mum’s List and the title track is available to stream or download when you preorder the album.
On The Waiting Game, out through Decca Records, Una has worked with some of the world’s most acclaimed songwriters and producers, including Grammy winner Amy Wadge, Ben Earle from The Shires, Nick Atkinson (Gabrielle Aplin), singer songwriter Jack McManus and Sacha Skarbek (Lana Del Ray, Jason Mraz).
To celebrate the single and album release, Una plays two very special, intimate shows, the first at London’s St Pancras Old Church on 15th February and the second at Dublin’s The Sugar Club on 16th February. Tickets for the two dates sold out in minutes and she will be joined on the dates by Catherine McGrath.
