Luiz Faria – Angel (Single)
Here at JLTT we are truly honoured to be able to listen to a variety of new music from a wide-range of genres and styles. We really appreciate it when people take the time to reach out to us with the music they have worked on so when we received a kind email from Luiz Faria we were intrigued about his new single ‘Angel’.
A Brazilian pop singer, Luiz Faria was raised in Jaboticabal, São Paulo’s countryside and began writing sings at age twelve. He then flew to Europe to hone is craft and work on his music and he hasn’t looked back.
The easy on the ear acoustic guitar creates a crisp sounding introduction with Faria’s radio-friendly vocal professing his love to a mystery individual in the chorus “You come around like an angel through the city of lost souls.”
Penned by Faria and produced by George Gleeson from Twilight Driving, Good Peach, Sully Gravity, ‘Angel’ sees our protagonist questioning himself about loving someone else whilst he is in a relationship. The Nineties inspired production is reminiscent of Savage Garden and it really suits Faria’s voice as it means that he can take his time and not strain it unnecessarily.
In addition, I’m picking up early Paolo Nutini vibes in particular his single ‘Last Request’ and I wonder if Faria is a fan of his?
In conclusion, ‘Angel’ is a stunning acoustic pop love song that is in a similar vein to Newton Faulkner, James Morrison and Ed Sheeran amongst others. Luiz Faria is one to watch in 2021 and I am really excited to hear what else he has to offer.
