Shane Richie Announces New Album.
He has signed a record deal with East West Records.
Best known for his role as Alfie Moon in Eastenders, the beloved and versatile entertainer Shane Richie is set to return to his roots in music after signing a new recording deal with East West Records, a Warner Music label.
The deal will see Richie record an Americana album inspired by his musical heroes and the contemporary country scene which is set to be released in Autumn 2017.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of new country, so I’m really excited to have the opportunity to record this album,” says Richie. “I’m looking forward to working with East West Records and can’t wait to share my music with you.”
The release of the album is set to add a new chapter to Richie’s singing career. His background in musical theatre includes several lead roles in major productions, most notably in the hit West End revival of ‘Grease’, and he also hit the charts in 2003 with his version of the Wham! classic ‘I’m Your Man’. The official BBC Children In Need charity single, the track peaked at #2 during a six-week run in the Top 10.
Shane Richie’s passion for music also saw him host two series of the hit gameshow ‘Don’t Forget The Lyrics!’ in 2008 and 2009.
