Troy Redfern – Waiting For Your Love (Single)
Troy Redfern is no stranger to us here at JLTT and we have been following his career for many years. In 2021, Troy is releasing his brand new album entitled ‘…The Cosmic Fire!’ on Friday 6th August 2021 and has shared its first single ‘Waiting For Your Love’.
Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in North Wales with Brighton-based producer Paul ‘Win’ Winstanley on production duties, ‘Waiting For Your Love’ hears Redfern embark on cosmic blues journey alongside a tight rhythm section consisting of Darby Todd (The Darkness, Martin Barre, Robben Ford) and bassist Dave Marks (Hans Zimmer).
Redfern is on hand with his vintage 1929 National Triolian steel guitar and his whiskey-soaked vocal that is in a similar vein to Southern rock acts such as Blackberry Smoke and Whiskey Myers. Todd’s drumming is ferocious on his Ludwig Vistalite acrylic drums of John Bonham fame and Marks’ bass is slick.
The use of vintage microphones complements the overall bluesy rock tones with its slight nod to Rory Gallagher. The song is well-written with a catchy chorus that will sit comfortably on rock radio playlists and it deserves to. With his live calendar being filled with UK tours with Robert Jon and The Wreck and Wille and The Bandits for this year and next, ‘Waiting For Your Love’ is not only a punchy number for long-term fans but the perfect introduction for the new ones as well.
