Harry Dean Lewis – Damn (Single)
Australian singer-songwriter Harry Dean Lewis has released his new solo single ‘Damn’. Mixed by Chris Cornelius and mastered by Scape Mastering, the track opens with a heartbeat-sounding drumbeat provided by Gidon Carmel that creates a real atmosphere.
Dean Lewis’ falsetto voice is well-suited to this pop music production complete with frantic piano and swirling keyboards to create a sense of uneasiness. Whilst I am impressed with the song’s production, I cannot connect with the lyrics and I wonder if I would be able to perhaps after a few listens.
In conclusion, Harry Dean Lewis does seem to have a creative vision which is to be commended and if you like Empire of The Sun then ‘Damn’ might appeal to you.
